How We Started
The concept for Topic Play Together NW emerged in late 2023. As local parents and artists, we noticed a gap in our community: there were plenty of loud, high-energy entertainment centers, and plenty of quiet, adults-only coffee shops, but almost nowhere that gracefully bridged the two.
We wanted a space where a toddler could safely explore tactile materials, while an adult could sit nearby working on a sketchbook or enjoying a properly sourced espresso. We wanted a physical location dedicated to the simple topic of playing and creating together.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: To cultivate an environment that nurtures the creative spirit in everyone.
We achieve this by stripping away distractions. You won't find flashing screens or chaotic layouts here. Instead, you'll find carefully selected wooden toys, non-toxic art supplies, cozy textiles, and a community of people who value intentional living.
Commitment to the Pacific Northwest
We are deeply rooted in the PNW. Our commitment to this region influences everything we do:
- Sourcing: Our cafe partners with sustainable farms in the Willamette Valley.
- Materials: Our studio furniture is crafted from reclaimed Douglas Fir.
- Artisans: We regularly hire local makers to host our weekend workshops.
